OK, here is the framed version of Silkwood Manor.
The rose-patterned frame is light green glazed with gold, and I like it very much. Actually, there is an inside frame, which is also gold, in place of a mat. Between the inside frame and the outside frame, there is an acrylic glass. The whole thing is pretty heavy.

Anyway, it’s done. Wow. There was a time that I thought it would never be finished. Or, to be honest, there was a time that I pretended that it didn’t exist (LOL). I am so relieved to see it done. And as I said, this will be a gift.



できました。額装。
淡いグリーンにゴールドがかかっていまして、バラの花と葉っぱが彫り込まれています。ちょっとわかりにくいですが、実は、額の内側に金色の別の内枠が入っています。この内枠と額の間に、アクリル・ガラスをはめ込んでいます。なので、結構重さがあります。クラシカルなデザインですが、ありがちな茶色ではなく柔らかいグリーンなので、軽やかな雰囲気にも見えると思います。満足です。

ここでちょっとお金の話。ざっくり3万6千円かかってます。
チャートがそもそも私としてはべら棒に思える約5000円、布と糸で約4500円、そして額が約2万6千円でした。額は、規定のサイズのものに無理やり収めることも可能でしたし、オーダーするにしてもシンプルな額にすれば、もっとお安くできたはずです。こういうクラシカルで、彫り模様のある、しかも金色のかかっているものは、高くなるそうです。でも、もうここまで来たら、こだわってしまえ〜と奮発しました。

2年越しの新築祝い。出来上がって感無量。永遠に終わらないのではないかと思ったこともありましたが、一安心です。あとは夫両親宅に飾るのみです。

Maybe no one remembers that I was stitching this as a gift for my in-laws.
The last time I posted about it was in January 2007. I continued it once in a while after that, but at some point, I just lost my enthusiasm to finish it and left it for…soooo long.

I at last took it out and finished stitching. During the two years I was stitching this, I lost a booklet that explains how to stitch it that was a separate booklet from a chart. And this is such an expensive chart!! I can’t believe myself for losing even a part of it.

I changed a bit of designs. I didn’t do any “over 1” and changed or omitted it. Also the inside the windows (or should I say window panes?) were supposed to be dark gray, but I just couldn’t take it. This is such a nice house, but dark inside? So I just did outline stitches along the windows to make it look stand out.

At long last, I was thrilled to put a lion head fountain charm. What a nice, elegant-looking garden.

頼んでもいないのに、Sajouからカタログが送られてきました。
そういえば、ハサミを買って以来、サイトには行っていません。

ちゃんと英語ですよ〜。当初に比べたら随分海外向けがんばってきてますね（笑）。




それにしてもきれいなカタログ。サイトはあまり見やすいというわけではないので、やはりこうして紙で見るのは見やすいです。それに、なんか高級感の漂うカタログですよ。ぱらぱらめくっていると、自分が手仕事にいそしむ良家の奥様のような気がしてきます（乗せられやすすぎっ！！）

いや〜〜もうずっと刺繍はしていないのに、そそられるじゃないですか〜。
それこそがカタログの狙い？！

色数少なくても、やっぱりすでにかわいい！

SALの第１パートができました。一番少ないところ。右側のお花のボーダーです。
３色しか使っていませんが、くすんだ緑の生地とよくあって、かわいいです。

The first part of SAL is completed. This is the smallest section for flower vines on the right side.
It looks pretty with only three colors on the muted green fabric.

前回のSALは途中でついていけなくなり・・・
今回は、時間もあまりないし、パスしようと思っていました。

いたのですが。
「今度は、これやるのよ〜」
と言われて、見たデザインが　！！！！

か、かわいすぎる・・・。

てことで、注文してしまいました。
ああ、一体、どうやってやるのでしょう？？
終わっていないステッチ、他にもあるのにな。

ま、のんびりのんびりということで。

久しぶりに注文したステッチ屋さん。店頭で支払うのではなくて、
一生懸命細かい額の切手を貼ってあるのが、なんだか妙におかしいです。

You probably know that I had dropped out of the previous SAL and finished the piece months later.
I was going to pass the new SAL because I have no enough time anyway.

BUT...this design is just too CUTE to miss!!!
The next moment I realized, I ordered the whole set of materials to a needlework shop, which arrived today.

I am not at all sure how I am going to fit this project into my to do list. Oh, well.

夏が終わる前にアップしないと。

これも2年前にステッチだけしたものです。この夏が始まる頃、やっと仕立てました。

Princesse の ABC "roses et dentelles" です。とてもエレガントですてきなデザインです♪　これは、布も糸も指定がありません。布は、たまたまユザワヤで見かけた青い布なので、色番号とかわかりません。糸は、Blanc、930、931、932のDMC糸を合わせています。

This is ABC "roses et dentelles" of Princesse. Elegant and beautiful, isn't it? There were no designations for the fabric and threads in the chart. I found this blue fabric in a shop and used it without knowing any specific information about it. I used DMC blanc, 930, 931 and 932.

2年前にステッチして放置してあったものを、この夏が始まるころ、ようやく仕立てました。

Dentelles et Rubans (Anne Van Damme)の　Enchantillons de dentelles の図案を少し（というか大幅に）組み替ました。

リースの中には小さなエンジェルを。
下には刺繍と雰囲気の似ているリボンをつけました。

I stitched this two years ago and didn't get to finish it. At the beginning of this summer, I took it out and made a little bellpull.

I referred to the chart "Enchantillons de detelles" in the book called "Dentelles et Rubans" by Anne Van Damme.

I put a little angel charm in the middle of the wreath and attached blue flower patterned ribbons at the bottom.

新作じゃありませんよ〜。仕立てをし直したものです。
ま、それでもあまり変わってないような（汗）。

やっと終わりました〜。4月半ばに完成予定だったのに、遅れること3ヶ月。でも、完成させるつもりはあったのですよ。
一目ずれて刺してしまったところが結構広い範囲であるのですが、このようなくにゃくにゃしたデザインだとわかりにくいかも（笑）。

Finally it is done! It was supposed to be finished in mid April, so I was three months behind. But anyway, it is finished.
I made a mistake in a fairly broad area, but luckily the scrolling design kind of disguises it.
